Halo 3 Shown to Hundreds at Sneak Preview

Just got home from Seattle, where Bungie played host to two packed houses at the Pacific Science Center Boeing IMAX theater. Every seat was filled at the 10PM show, so the folks at the Science Center were kind enough to let us stay late and let in another group at 11:15. Every seat ended up being filled at that show too. Amazing, since the event was announced only a day earlier. The guys at the front of the line arrived at 10:00 AM. Die hards.

Frankie and Luke wowed the crowd with a great demo of co-op on the Tsavo Highway. I think everyone there was awed by the graphics, which looked great thanks to a 10,000 lumens hi-def projector. Frank showed off Forge, where you can modify your multiplayer games, and they wrapped things up by showing off the Save Films mode, where you can save complete games, and move the camera after you've captured the film, take screen shots, and share your favorite moments with your friends. It was awesome watching missles coming in at an enemy in slow motion, from every angle.

I haven't kept up to date with every bit of Halo 3 news, so this is the first I'm hearing about this whole Forge thing. Been reading around about it on the net, and it sounds really cool. Should be alot of fun to just dick around in it with a few friends over XBOX Live.

Cool. I guess.

I never really got into sneak previews. I'd rather just wait and experience the whole game at once.

Their only real purpose is to reveal a few things about the game so that people will want to buy it. I already know I'm buying it, so eh.

for the campaign - absolutely!
for multiplayer - no way, i don't even like playing that on my HD projector at 92" - i need more visual control over the confines of the action...

You just need a bigger room so you can sit farther away from the screen. I play on a 60" screen and think it is perfect.
