Price cut definitely helped the PS3. Last months sales were 80k.

360 sales have been dropping for consecutive months. The 360 price cut should of been months ago. It's obvious the cut was reactive to sliding sales. Regardless, it's going to be nothing but up from here with the price cut in August and Halo 3 in September.

Not sure if PS3 sales will drop next month. They'll probably drop a little.

We? Who is we? If you are referring to Sony, then you are dead wrong. They will only continue to get trounced even more for every month remaining in 2007. THe 360 price cut of August will boost #'s quite a bit in conjunction with Bioshock, and September will be just unreal in terms of console sales. I think it will be one of the 360's single largest months......

Personally I want all the consoles to do well. The better they all do the more choice for the consumer and the more competition the better the companies try to please us.
It's amusing how people get very worked up and defensive over the console they own and stuff like sales figures. Does it really matter? Despite you including yourself in the MS bandwagon ("We"), I highly doubt you will be sharing their profits.
Think about it if there was no competition the one monopoly could feed you any old shit and you would have to swallow it or have nothing. The way it is now PS3 has to keep coming up with ideas and stuff to try gain back ground.
Long may they all continue to sell and be available. I just love the lot.

Think about it if there was no competition the one monopoly could feed you any old shit and you would have to swallow it or have nothing. The way it is now PS3 has to keep coming up with ideas and stuff to try gain back ground.

the first party titles may be shit cuz thats all there is, but 3rd parties still compete with eachother.

a console monopoly is much different then a REAL monopoly. there will still be competition.
a single console is actually better imo. then the market is much much bigger for 3rd parties, and they will have more money from sales to make better games.

console sales would still drop, and the manufacturer would still have to drop the price.

hell, if this 'idea' that the next gen was going to be a single console was true, even it could work out that theres competition STILL with the console itself. if each party from the manufacturing got exclusive contracts to a company for profits, then nothing would be different from the way it is now accept wed have one console.

and as for it being amusing on how people get worked up over their console.. well its no different then car manufacturers and people who love their cars.
personally i find it amusing when someone goes out and buys all the gen consoles so they can enjoy a few extra games here and there and then goes on how they arent a fanboy or some shit. who the fuck cares if someones a fanboy does it make their statement less true?

I was referring to consoles not games. If there was only Console X manufacturer they could give you whatever features they wanted and not bother with others. Consoles do more than just play games now. game development would only be a monopoly if there was just one developer. That is not what I said and the sales figures in the post refer to consoles.
The fanboy stuff you are quoting I am not getting into that as it is simply kids playground rubbish. Suffice to say I buy things for different purposes and not of all them games so don't assume .
If someone is a fan of one particular thing that is fine and I expect them to be enthusiastic over it. The bit that I fail to comprehend is why it should bother them as regards something they don't own. They don't own it so anything to do with it should be of very little consequence.
