Consumer confusing is holding HiDef back, everyone loses. If HD-DVD is cheaper giving the same (some argue better) results, the choice is obvious.
Paramount got something on the order of $100-million for switching to HD-DVD exclusively. That simply indicates that these "Hi-Def" disc formats are
both selling so poorly that Paramount stands to make more from Toshiba's bribe money than selling discs in either format.
Warner probably wants more, and is probably playing Sony against Toshiba to boost up their bribe even more than Paramount's.
