And i have a feeling halo 3 isn't going to be as big as people expect.
Yeah, ignore the fact that it's gone gold before the release date. It's totally going to pull a Psychonauts... right off the radar by week 2.
Seriously, if you don't understand the industry, save the predictions for the big boys... mmkay?

And regarding what you said about the price drop and shit. Microsoft would be sitting on huge profits into early next year if they drop it another $20. Do you SERIOUSLY think you know better than these people? The bottom line in business is profit. There are things like customer service and marketing. But they all come back to profit.
Y'know, you said you hate it when people act like they know better than you do...
...
Maybe that's because they actually do.
If you really knew the industry like you're pretending to, then you'd know that profit is a pipedream for the big three in the first two years of a console's lifespan (There are outliers in that model, a-la the Nintendo Wii). Inordinate development costs coupled with still pricey production costs keep the companies in the red for quite a while as far as Cost/Sale Price goes. Component price reduction is a work in progress for these companies for years after the release of the first model of their console. The original PS2 is a prime example. Having dealt with the insides of just about every NTSC model, I can safely say that the first ones look absolutely nothing like the SCPH-50001 model (the last one before the slim). Why? Because they found ways to run it smaller, cooler and cheaper. Companies make very little money off of hardware sales for quite a while after they've started reducing component costs.
The real money is in licensing.
Just quit while you're ahead...
or... well... just quit it for that matter.
