It was already confirmed via MS spokepersons on 3rd party site, but now it's also been confirmed by the Microsoft PR Gaming Blog site: [QUOTE] Hopefully I can put these Halo 3 ban rumors to rest... [/QUOTE] Of course they are talking about original Halo3 discs here. As Halo3 is out there in the wild as well now, playing it off a DVD+-DL is against their EULA (and illegal if you don't own the original) and might get you banned if they can and want to detect it.

OK well we will see in due time. But of course they want people to not be afraid so they can get a better picture of whom to ban when the next hammer falls.

I for one will wait and make my own backup from my own disks.

Just wondering and making sure microsoft cant detect if you have played a burned game by only looking at the hard drive. I have two xbox 360's one modded and banned and one unmodded . I know they can see when it was played but not if it was a DL or not.

the banhammer already fell, it took them over a year to start banning, i doubt they figured out c4eva's ingenuity that quickly, stop scaring people and enjoy backed up games on the 360.

I think you are underestimating M$; do you realy think that they are that stupid?
The FW is everywhere to DL, ever human beeing could download this, do u think M$ wont check the FW too?
They could easily jump an any tracker and check the IPs of downloads or what so ever, but thats lotsa work.
They got enuff computer scientists and they are paid for good work...

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up, my friend came through with a copy from blockbuster, Got online and works fine cant play online games though apparently Microsoft doesn't have that running yet. you can invite people to a game though. Im online now rambuster if anyone wants to play with me on companion. I did use the new xboxbackup creater so i it checked out all stealth and no ban and have been playing all day. So if anyone needed that info there you go. My friend has to return it the 25th so ill be playing this copy then getting mine at midnight!

forgot to mention that i just tested the backup online, im playing with the orignal now and will be for a while since i just feel safer with it lol but i have 2 xbox so i thought id test it out to see if ms has anything planned.
