that's the point ... I guess the Core systems will have HDMI soon too.
It's logic anyway ... Microsoft won't keep making different types of motherboards (that's way too expensive).
They have probably been using their last stock of 1st gen motherboards for the Core and once those are all gone the Core will switch to zephyr motherboards too.

Yeah, that's what I figure. One motherboard for all systems, use up the non-HDMI boards in the Cores. They won't include a HDMI cable with the Core to keep the costs down, but at least the option will be there.

Kind of what i was thinking, it would be cheaper to standardize and make one board then make two different ones. I just sent my 360 in for the second time and got the new heat sink, mabie if i have to send it in again i will get hdmi.

That's funny, my brother just bought a Pro just for the HDMI, and the guy up at EB Games was telling us that Microsoft was discontinuing the Core.

-1 for EB Games yet again biggrin.gif

Core is definitely the way to go for backups and homebrew, hopefully the HDMI box means cheaper older ones on X-S BST or Ebay, because when I get my Elite I'm seriously considering picking up a Core just to mess around with.

Ehh I don't think it'll get discontinued.. at least for not a long time.

The Core probably brings in more money than any other sku. Eventually the consumer finally decides to buy a hard drive... a wireless controller... component cables/vga cables... It adds up.

I can see it getting HDMI though. Cheaper for Microsoft.

Homebrews without an hdd? blink.gif .I know the scene still far from developing homebrews running from hdd,but if they never get there there won't be a lot of things to do with the homebrews sad.gif

the current rumors are that the Core will stay, but under a new name 'Arcade' that will come with a mem card and maybe some free XBLA games. We'll see...

True, but the Core would give me an excuse to mess around with HDHacker, and I'm getting an Elite first so I would have a 120GB HDD anyway...
