Xbox Live Issues... *Update* Resolved?
Posted by XanTium | September 25 23:18 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From Major Nelson (FYI: MS owned blog):
If you are having an issue with Xbox LIVE, keep an eye on the Xbox LIVE Service Status section of the support page. (Orange box, right column) The operations center will be updating that throughout the evening until the issues of subsided.
The Xbox LIVE Service Status says:
Users may experience intermittent issues with billing transactions including, but not limited to downloading game updates from Xbox Live. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
*Update* the Xbox LIVE Service Status page removed the message now, so we guess all LIVE services are stable again. If not let us know.

I noticed I couldn't get to the marketplace earlier, and that it was randomly disconnecting me and some of my buddies as well. Guess the increased traffic must have caused a glitch.

Apparrently "Crackdown" is tied into live so severely that I was unable to load *the* saved game. I tried it 8 times and then finally looked it up online....sure enough: some other people were having problems getting into their Crackdown saved game too at the exact same time during this "Live" issues.

It royally sucks when you buy a game, buy a couple downloads for it, and it works fine one day, but the next day it craps out on you. As a consumer I demand higher reliability than that.... a "Live" partial outage should not make my game unplayable!

I went into the market place and started downloading a video to make sure that my connection was working. I then went back into Crackdown and was able to load my saved game right up and play! A few seconds later my download suspended and I was able to continue playing my saved game... This is the third night I've had a chance to play this game. I'd be pissed if the saved game was corrupted the third time that I played it, but apparently it was just a "Live" server bug. fkers.

So they brag about 1.7 million pre-orders, then don't expect them all to play it on release date. Gimme a break.

So if you decide you don't want to play on Live any more and cancel your sub, you can kiss goodbye to the save game facility in Crackdown? Perhaps they should give the game away free, seeing as it looks like you're bloody renting it anyway! grr.gif

Actually, Crackdown works just fine when you are not online. It was probably receiving "bad" responses from the live service, and wasn't able to gracefully handle them.

No Live problems on my end, and I was playing matchmaking until almost 4:00am (GMT -5).

hold on a sec, i did get a message saying that my NAT setting wasn't open and blah blah blah, but when I went to the dash and checked Network setting, NAT was reported as open.

Either way, never got in the way of gaming it up
