I'm now looking into getting my second xbox due to my first dying on me. It was flashed with a Hitachi 59DJ and now i'm looking into the new console to buy and flash. Sadly the new consoles look hard as hell to flash, and as i understand it, it differs between the BenQ and Hitachi 79, which both look hard to flash. I was pondering, due to the fact i have an old drive to rip open, can i simply remove the old drive and spoof it into the new console? Or, as i have gone to all the length to get the new drive dumped (as i understand you have to spoof the drive), might i just as well go the whole hog and flash the new drive?

Exactly....!! You need to to all the work to get the key anyway... except in the case of the BenQ since there is no firmware for it and you need to replace the drive.
