Lazard: Halo 3 to Drive Bumper September Sales
Posted by XanTium | October 11 10:30 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From next-gen.biz:
[QUOTE]
Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian has forecast a 30 percent year-over-year rise in North American September software sales, largely driven by the release of Halo 3.

Microsoft recently announced that Halo 3 had grossed $300m at retail by early October. Sebastian believes the majority of that figure came from North America and suggests that Halo 3 will be the primary factor in ballooning September software sales.
The release of the Bungie-developed shooter, along with prior price cuts to the Xbox 360 range, leads Sebastian to believe that Microsoft's hardware sales will be up for September

exactly, nothing new in this analyst's forecast...in fact it is quite late relative to everything else we have already heard...maybe he was in a coma for the past 2 weeks...

Honestly, can I get one of these jobs?

QUOTE

Interviewer- So sicknasty413, what do you think the sky will be like tomorrow?

me- It'll be blue.

Interview- Well I'll be damned. Here's a bajillion dollars

Seriously, saying that the release of Halo 3 increased sales in Xbox 360 is like saying that the release of the steering wheel increased car sales.

And yes, Halo 3 is required to properly run an Xbox 360 wink.gif

my guess is that the company all analyst work for (yes, only one company is dumb enough to hire them) doesn't know anything about the gaming industry, so they just have random people who know nothing about it make predictions... then they think it is important news because none of them know anything which is why there are articles like this one.

interesting... interesting...

and the question of 'how many "analysts" can say the same thing and not sound retarded as its been said before" still remains to be answered

and didn't they read the interview with that nintendo guy.... halo 3 won't move systems so OBVIOUSLY only software sales will be up, and not by that much as halo 3 is like a lot of the games available so why should anyone buy it

I'm having a hard time understanding why this analyst is stating "predictions" for the PAST.

He is aware that September was LAST MONTH and it is now October... right? unsure.gif
