360Drive Switcher v1.0.1.14
Posted by XanTium | October 25 23:19 EST | News Category: Xbox360

We received this news from the french modding website gx-mod.com:
[QUOTE]
Our developer, Soulheaven, has released a new tool that allows you to prepare a firmware for a new drive on your Xbox 360.
360Drive Switcher

How it works:
1. You dump the two drives firmwares you want to swap.
2. You hack the firmware of the drive you want to use.
3. Launch 360Drive_switcher and set it like this:
+ The firmware of the drive you don't want to use anymore in the "Original firmware file"
+ The firmware of the drive you want to use in "Destination firmware file"
4. Check the informations that the tool gives you
5. Click on "Generate..."

Now, you have just to flash the new firmware created on the drive you want to use...and have fun.

What's new/fixed in v1.0.1.14:
* fixed some small bugs
* more explicit error message if you try to load a totally corrupted firmware
* Auto-update feature added
* Important: After several tests, it looks like the ixtreme v1.2revC patch doesn't work correctly with spoofed firmwares. The spoof line isn't fully imported in the ixtreme firmware. That can result in an error66 or error65. To void any errors, if you're spoofing a drive (either using this software of Firmware Tool Box), do it AFTER the iXtreme patch.

so if im reading this right, this could potentially allow you to use the hacked drive of a bricked 360, on a new console? since the dump of the hacked drive is already hacked?

Hello,

No it's not an only french release, it's work on French XP and English XP, but I was unable to test it on VISTA system.

It seems to be a misconfigured windows which causes a crash at installation step. Please check you have the Microsoft .net framework v2.0 or v3.0.

For people who have a missing file, please check you run the Setup.exe with all others file with it. Not only the setup.exe alone.

If you are always unable to install it, take the .exe.deploy file in the version folder, and rename it as 360DriveSwitcher.exe. And run the application alone.

Let me know if it's ok.

Enjoy it :-)

PS : To answer to a member of this forum, yes you can take a hacked drive from a briked 360. dump the firmware and let it as it is. open the software, put it in destination firmware, and put the firmware of your benq (probably) in origin firmware. Once done you can flash again your drive from briked 360, and enjoy backuped games on your new console.

See you

AFAIK, DVD firmware toolbox already fills this void and does the job a lot better.

If you use DVD Firmware Toolbox, it tells you if the firmware is being spoof when you open it - maybe this is a future feature for this software?

Hi,

Fw toolbox do it better ?? Sorry but in fw toolbox you can do it but you have to understand the software option and you need to know which version of drive you have.

With my firmware, the only needs are the two firmwares. All things are made automaticly. It's A LOT easier for noobs.

After, my software give spoof informations like fwtoolbox. The difference is, that my software check if the string id is complete. The fw tool box doesn't.

The "bug" is not in fwtoolbox or in my software but in the ixtreme 1.2 patcher. Indeed, it copies the string id but incompleted. So, If I have said to hack the firmware before spoof, it's concerning my software but also fw tool box.

The difference is that fw tool box doesn't detect this incomplete string id. And so after flash you will have a great 66 error, and some times 65 error.

So be careful.

Have a nice day

Grrrrrrrrrr.

This Visual Studio Automatic installation is a real piece of shit.

Can you try to rename the C:/Documents and Settings/steven/Desktop/New Folder/360Drive_Switcher_1_0_1_4/360Drive_Switcher.exe.deploy file as C:/Documents and Settings/steven/Desktop/New Folder/360Drive_Switcher_1_0_1_4/360Drive_Switcher.exe and to run only this file ?

Thanks you to report.

I will try to correct this installation bug. On some computers it doesn't work, I don't know why.
