hey guys. heres the deal. i have 2 boxes, a 1.4 and a 1.6. im having problems with my 1.6 box. composite video doesnt work on the 1.6 for some reason so i swapped the cable with a component one. so the 1.6 box works with the component cable but the problem is that the video is too bright. i tried adjusting some settings but no go. the cable works fine with my 1.4, both component and composite. you guys have any suggestions? i live in the usa so its on ntsc but that doesnt seem to be an issue. any suggestions guys?

I'm having a similar problem, 1.0 Xbox with X3 chip ( I think). Things have worked fine for years, then all of sudden one day I turn on the Xbox and it looks as if the brightness and contrast have been jacked all the way up.

Settings on the TV are fine, other connections are normal (HDMI, VGA, etc.) its just the Xbox over component that is giving this weird problem.
