Sony Slashes PS3 Development Kit Price
Posted by XanTium | 19-11-2007 20:53 EST

From next-gen.biz:
[QUOTE]
Sony has cut the cost of its PlayStation 3 development kit by almost half, while adding a host of software development features aimed at simplifying the game creation process.

The PlayStation 3 Reference Tool kit will now be available for 950,000 yen in Japan, $10,250 in North America and €7,500 in Europe, making PS3 game creation a more viable option for small and independent game developers.

New software development features, debugging tools and added support for applications such as ProDG and its SN tool suite are also being rolled out.

Sounds great I hope good things come of it. Maybe this will draw more developers and result in some great exclusives.

It would appear Sony are learning from mistakes as they go and are actually addressing problems arising from feedback.
Everyone who wrote of this console before it was year into it's life may be shown to be a little hasty.

That's really good news. And this helps many people and will increase PSP popularity for sure. Besides that Unreal also released toolkit for free so i guess there will be more such news going to come up soon.
