Infectus Timing Attack PCB Add-on Picture - Release in 10days
Posted by XanTium | November 24 09:40 EST | News Category: Xbox360
Team Infectus released a new pictures of their upcoming addon PCB (based on the open-source details Robinsod released) for their Infectus chip. Using the Infectus chip and this addon board you'll be able to downgrade (using the 'Timing Attack') any current Xbox360 kernel (to an exploitable one (4532,4548) for example - so you can get CPU key and run linux, edit keyvault, unban console and later maybe run homebrew). From infectus.biz: [QUOTE] A new PCB ADD ON that allow an easy procedure of downgrade will be released in the next 10 days, more info this week. Here the picture of the sample pcb

By my understanding - we can use this to downgrade to an exploitable kernal and then run Linux.
With Linux running would we (or devs in reality) then have access to the actual hardware of the 360 i.e. graphics, hdd, dvd, network etc or is this not possible or is it unknown?
Even so, does this mean that ultimately we could have a version of XBMC streaming x264 @ 720p or higher as the processor in the 360 would be more than capable without direct access to graphics etc?

Pretty exciting to see stuff happening. I didn't get an Xbox until like 2004, by which time everything was pretty much figured out. Kind of neat to be in on the ground floor, so to speak, with the 360

This is great news. Everything is finally coming together. You know I never thought about XBMC running on Xbox360 using Linux. I knew they ported it to Linux, but never thought about getting XBMC on my 360 that way. So unless I'm wrong, as soon as we get Linux up and running, we get XBMC running on 360 as well.

Could be talking out of my ass on this one, but i'm not sure sound is working on the 360 linux?
I think you may be right.. I read sound only works if you use a usb sound device or something.. and still a few other performance issues accessing hardware via linux..
