After searching around for the answers to what specific audio codec is supported on the PS3,
I came across this page:

It has an audio compatibility chart that is fairly accurate and extensive in details.
Looks pretty complete to me. What do you think? I like how it covers the
hd codecs like dolby digital plus, dolby truehd, dts-hd ma, and dts-hd hra.

The other sections are nice as well, but the audio part is great!

yep, very interesting article.

i am particulary interested in the hd audio and hopefully (if not already released) support for bitstream dolby hd
