I have an Xbox version 1.0 modded with Xenium ice. It worked fine before I moved, on firing it up yesterday it booted to the xenium screen then locked up. On second boot and after it is now going to Japanese wording screen and error 05. The HD is not the original hd, but a lager one.
After spending hours messing around reinstalled, I have a no solder adapter, I believe the Xenium mod chip may be dead, I get no red led. I can get the red led to light if I moved the switch to safe mode and I also get the safe mode image on TV.

My questions are: Is possible that the no solder adapter is bad? Is it possible that Xenium ice is bad? Is it possible to soft mod the larger HD with out having the original Xbox Seagate drive and used no mod chip? If I ordered another mod chip like an Xecuter 2.6 and installed that, would it see the current modded larger HD?

Thanks

microo

try performing a recovery.

and error 05 should only come up if you are using the retail bios. error 05 is that your HDD is unlocked.

Maybe during the move the 0Pin was dislodged. I would open the box up and reseat the chip.
