Xbox Video Marketplace in Europe soon, limited release
Posted by XanTium | November 28 12:58 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From joystiq.com:
[QUOTE]
A recently purchased Microsoft Points Card package (manufactured in Ireland) confirms the impending launch of Xbox Live Video Marketplace in Europe, apparently limited to the UK, Ireland, France, and Germany. The packaging also suggests that users will be able to rent "great movies" (in high-def), but does not mention the possible availability of television content.

Yup even if you delete them they are like anything else on XBLMP, attached to your gamertag so you can download them again without paying again

I don't know about TV shows, but movies auto-delete 2 weeks after the purchase, and from the time you hit play the movie will auto-delete in 24 hours. Or at least that's how it was when I used to download the movies (around Summer).

EDIT: crasher0255 beat me to it and has a better answer, lol.

Congrats to the UK for finally getting a Vid MP, I know you guys have been waiting for it. beerchug.gif

I dont expect to see much TV shows...cause they are mostlt from american companies that would probably object to having ppl outside the US watching the stuff.

Thank you, hope they get Family Guy, and American Dad series at reasonable prices, in HD, that would be amazing..

I knew movies were rental, ill use my HD-DVD drive for that, but TV shows I'm ok since they are usual cheap.

They need to get Red Dwarf up there as well *drools*

Im sure it will expand fairly rapidly once they have it setup over there, I couldnt imagine it would be the easiest task getting it setup overseas from the start. Maybe I should rephrase that, I bet its fairly easy for them to implement video marketplace over there since they already have the framework setup in the US, but Its gotta be much tougher getting companies to sign on and actually populate the video MP. Its probably a pretty slow process dealing with each network individually. Once there are a few bigger names though and alot of networks see that its popular, plenty of others im sure will be alot more willing to add their content also

You beat me to it! During the Microsoft press rally at the last E3, they announced this service as hitting Canada by the fall of this year. Despite the Canadian dollar being worth more than the American dollar, we still have to pay more of them for the console, for the games, and for the Live service. Why not at least allow us to watch the same movies and TV shows that we've already seen anyways? I probably get more American channels than Canadian ones on my satellite TV service, for example.
