From vgchartz.com:
The following are some North American top 10 lists of units sold relative to the install base for the particular console system(s) the titles were released for. In other words, the percentage states the percent of owners of a particular console that bought the game.
Xbox 360 (8,805,238 systems sold) 1. Halo 3 (47.4%) 2. Gears of War (34.4%) 3. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (15.9%) 4. Guitar Hero II (15.4%) 5. Forza Motorsport 2 (15.0%) 6. Madden NFL 08 (14.7%) 7. Marvel Ultimate Alliance (13.8%) 8. Rainbow Six: Vegas (13.8%) 9. Call of Duty 3 (13.4%) 10. Fight Night Round 3 (12.7%)
Aside from Halo 3 and Gears of War, although the attachment rate of the other top selling games are only within the 12 - 16 % range, when considering the number of 360 owners, there are quite a few games selling a lot of units. With the way Guitar Hero III, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty 4 have been selling, it is likely that they will soon land a spot on this list.
I don't think that's right.. right? where the hell is Warhawk, it's one of the best games, probably the best too.. better than R&C - Uncharted because it never get's boring. like wtf fight night who the hell buys that.

Umm yes, they track warhawk and no, it didnt sell well. Fight nght was popular when it came out. QUOTE(STICKY_BUD @ Nov 29 2007, 08:57 AM) that ps3 list pretty much proves that the only million seller for that console is resistance fall of man; and that is not even a million in north america, but it is good to see a game finally get close. motorstorm as a pack in should not even be counted and there is no chance of madden selling more than 500k abroad so that wont make it to a million.
all considered, cod4 at almost 400k units is pretty good though and i suppose it is possible ea will sell another 600k units abroad, or eventually.
looking at the other lists, those consoles clearly do not have the same problems selling games. you would think that the hacked consoles would sell less games. hmmm!
on consoles piracy is really not that big a threat. Then again, those consoles don't have blu ray so its most likely that the audience are gamers first. I could be wrong on that one but thats my theory

QUOTE(Legendary Badass @ Nov 29 2007, 07:42 AM) If I worked from MS, I would have expected Halo 3 to be around 75%. In this regard, it looks like it was a little bit a sales let down. Does anyone know the rate for Halo 2 corresponding to the Xbox?
You must be really negative and cynical to think those figures are even a little let down. Thankfully you don't work at Microsoft. 4.1 Million copies of Halo 3, in 3 months, is anything but a let down, it's record setting. Usually, in the video game industry, business is considered great if they sell 1 million copies in a year. This post has been edited by g8crapachino: Nov 29 2007, 05:22 PM
