Hehe, didn't know there was a difference between x264 and h264! Thought it was one of those MPG / MPEG, same difference type of things.
See? I have absolutely no business developing an encoding application!

Dan
Well you know more than me...
This crap confuses the hell out of me.
Right...
As far as I know:
QUOTE
x264 is a free software library for encoding H.264/MPEG-4 AVC video streams. Written from scratch by Loren Merritt, Laurent Aimar, Eric Petit, Min Chen, Justin Clay, Måns Rullgård, Radek Czyz, Alex Izvorski, Alex Wright, and Christian Heine, it is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
MKV is a container. People are using X264 to encode stuff and putting it in the mkv container.
It has 5.1 sound and I want to watch it

360 won't play it, but your program will let me convert it into wmv so that it will.
There are other progs to change it to mp4, but then you only get 2 channel sound.
Screw that.
Whatever you've done, it's very useful, and a lot quicker than what I was using before.
The guide for the other method is here:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=611163Yours is far easier, and takes 20% of the time. When the encode is done, I'll give you my feedback.
It's a pity the first I hear of this is today. But even if you don't do anything else with it, if it's as good as it seems, you'll have a great legacy.
