What will this do exactly? I haven't been following the 360 modding scene since I can't have XBMC on my 360 yet biggrin.gif

ive been slammed with school and haven't kept up much, but im pretty sure with a CPU key and NAND you can drowngrade from any dash with an infectus2, right?

Nice, but I wish they would work on the English language a bit better, that article is so poor.

Thanx for the info, not sure what can be done after downgrading. Guess I have some research to do today biggrin.gif

BTW is King Kong needed for homebrew still or is there something else they're doing now?

It should be the same points as before; I believe it's just a revised chip design and that the software design is fully compatible with all previous infectus chips. If I'm wrong, correct me tho smile.gif

# UNBANN X360 from LIVE with serial change (under develope)

Thats a bad idea. what happens if some one changes their serial number, taken from a new or some one elses unbaned xbox and goes on live and gets baned again. the other person who dosnt play "backups" or has a moded xbox will lose out when they want to connect to live.

id be realy pissed off if some one used my xbox360's serial number to unban them selves.

I'm no expert on the 360 softmodding scene, but yes, you still need king kong for the KK exploit on either dashboard 4532 or 4552 (I believe those are the correct ones, but I might be wrong). The KK exploit allows you to enter hypervisor mode on the 360, in which you can run unsigned code, ie a sketchy version of linux (currently under devolopment). All that this modchip allows you to do is downgrade whatever dashboard you have (currently works on all dashboards, including the new fall update), to either of the exploitable dashboards. By the way, the modchip is 30+ wires, but hey, at least we finally have a way to run homebrew.

For someone to use your 360's identifying information to unban themselves, you have to have booted Linux on your xbox and retrieved the CPU key and NAND dump, then decrypted that and given it to them. If you've already upgraded to the latest dash you would also need to have soldered an infectus with the downgrade addon onto your motherboard in order to downgrade first to boot Linux.

So, er, you'd probably be aware if you'd done that. smile.gif If you haven't, then nobody can use your 360's details to unban themselves.
