[QUOTE]
According to data released by regular chart compiler Chart-Track, via UK trade paper MCV, the lifetime-to-date sales total for the Wii has now surpassed the Xbox 360 in the UK, despite a yearlong head start for Microsoft's console and continued stock problems since launch for the Wii.

That's nice and all, but you have to look at which system is actually being USED.

i still cant believe this I mean the Wii is a piece of u know what yet is killing all the consoles in sales....this is bad because the next cycle of consoles are all gonna try to copy the Wii and we are all gonna end up playing crappy games with dumb controllers.......we need to start a campaign in order to get the 360 into more homes is what we need to do....or MS needs to drop the price lower than the wii

Already is isnt it? if you compare it to the core/arcade pack.

No not quite, still a little more expensive.

The Wii is so popular because not only gaming geeks/hardcore are buying them, whole families play them, grandparents are buying them - everyone is buying them!

It's really not that hard to figure out... rolleyes.gif

gotta admit my wii gets more play time from everyone vs my 360 witch gets only me playing it. the first gen wii games had some pretty bad controls but the newer games have mastered it and there just great to play.

yeah i wonder that to sad.gif ... cause i sure hope that dont happen cause "real" gamers aint going to play with a crappy Wii controller.... it might be nice "at first", but after a while i think the Wii would get old (i aint played the Wii at all yet myself so i cant say to much about it)

but i dont have to worry to much since i play majority of my games on a PC anyways since majority of games i play are shooters... which (in my opinion) the PC is FAR better cause aiming at stuff is MUCH easier with a mouse vs a analog stick etc.

-------------

but anyways, i think the main reason Wii is so popular is, #1 it's "price" and #2 it's a unique controller design which has a broader range of people playing it like older people etc etc.... but the thing is i wonder HOW LONG they will actually "use" that system before getting bored of it wink.gif

Well done Nintendo. As long as $ony crash and burn with their shit, unreliable hardware (OK the 360 has RROD but what did $ony do about all those PS2s out there with disc read errors?) I'm happy.

Wii success most likely wont change much if anything MS or Sony does next round. Nintendo is the only one that makes a profit off selling hardware. It's more important for 360 to sell lots and lots of games which it is clearly the leader on that front. Good news for Nintendo but there is nothing to worry about...gamers won't be left out next round and certainly MS and Sony won't drasticly change their powerhouse hardware specs in favor of cheaper/less impressive graphics.

"halo nerds" ? What category do they fall into? smile.gif Trey has just coined a new sub-culture. Forget emo..who need hardcore, no more hicks or jocks>>not just nerds or geeks. There is a new brand of super nerd called the "halo nerd"
Dads, hide your daughters!!!

LOL trey...

Anyway...not everyone who buys an xbox is a nerd or is obsessed with halo. Thats just kind of rediculous.

I bet most Wii's are used every once in a while, or once/twice and then forgot about. TBH, I feel that it is over rated.
The 360 is a nice compromise between Wii/PS3, but I think people are attracted to the Wii because it is less expensive.
