Well i havnt used my ps3 in a few months, and today i got a Planet Earth blu ray box set, it saw that motostorm was still in so i ejected that and put disk 1 in the drive. I played the first disk for about half an hour, and it was fine, but after that it kept freezing, and i had to stop the movies, so i tried disk 2, and that wouldn't show up on the menu or anything.
I then updated my firmware, to see if that would help, but it did not. Now i can not get my ps3 to detect any games or blu ray movies.

Any ideas?

I can't think of anything but calling customer service because it sounds like your drive is malfunctioning. The good news is sony is rumered to get there very few broken consoles fixed quickly, so good luck.

If it has been stood then dust contamination on the laser lens is a good bet. it is also possible the laser has failed.
Get it back under the warranty.

Just an update, i have realized that it is that disks do not spin anymore in the drive.

Any more ideas?
