What's the bitrate of your divx stuff? Most stuff would be under 3Mbps, which is a tiny load on an 802.11g network. I run mine through wireless all the time with no stuttering on playback.

I had absolutely zero problems streaming non hd divx files over both 802.11b and 802.11g networks. I ran into problems once I began trying to stream content with bit rates of 4500 - 10 000 kbps (HD content).
As long as you're not streaming HD divx files, you will be fine.

Im using wireless setup from 360 to my vista 64 pc and can stream hd wmv vc-1 movies with a bitrate average of 8000 - 15000 max and they all work fine. Im on 'g' though dont use 'b'.
My router is netgear dg834g had to update its firmware to get it to find the xbox 360 in the first place ever since its been perfect...
