I haven't had time to read all 10 pages, so what exactly has been done here? On my Xbox, I have two copies of MAMEoX version 0.76.1b. One of them I hex-edited so that it saves in a different location so I can have one for horizontal oriented games and one for vertical. I want to turn a TV/monitor on it's side to replicate the monitors for games like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and 1942. Then I have:
Kawa-X 0.11 (copy 1) with these games:
Neo Geo: Aero Fighters 2 Aero Fighters 3 Aggressors of Dark Kombat Alpha Mission II Andro Dunos Bakatonosama Majong Manyuuki (Japanese) Bang Bead Baseball Stars Professional Baseball Stars 2 Battle FlipShot Blazing Star Blue's Journey Burning Fight Bust-A-Move Bust-A-Move Again Captain Tomaday Crossed Swords Cyber-Lip Digger Man Eight Man Football Frenzy Ganryu Ghost Pilots Goal! Goal! Goal! Gururin The Irritating Maze Jyanshin Densetsu: Quest of Jongmaster (Japanese) King of the Monsters King of the Monsters 2: The Next Thing Last Resort League Bowling Legend of Success: Joe Magical Drop II Magical Drop III Magician Lord Mahjong Kyoretsuden (Japanese) Master of Syougi (Japanese) Metal Slug Metal Slug 2 Metal Slug X Metal Slug 3 Money Puzzle Exchanger Mutation Nation NAM-1975 Neo Bomberman Neo Bomberman: Panic Bomber Neo DriftOut: New Technology Neo Mr. Do! Neo Pong Neo Puzzle League Nightmare in the Dark Ninja Combat Ninja Commando OverTop Pleasure Goal: 5 on 5 Mini Soccer Pop 'N Bounce Power Spikes II Prehistoric Isle 2 Pulstar Puzzled Puzzle de Pon Puzzle de Pon R Quiz King of Fighters (Japanese) Quiz Daisousa Sen: The Last Countdown (Japanese) Quiz Daisousa Sen 2: Quiz Meintantei Neo Geo (Japanese) Robo Army Sengoku Sengoku 2 Sengoku 3 Shock Troopers Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad Soccer Brawl SpinMaster Stakes Winner Stakes Winner 2 Strikers 1945 Plus Street Hoop Super Baseball 2020 Super Dodge Ball The Super Spy Tecmo World Soccer '96 3 Count Bout Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy Top Player's Golf Thrash Rally Twinkle Star Sprites Viewpoint Wind Jammers Zed Blade Zupapa
CPS1: Buster Buddies (Pang! 3) Captain Commando Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Carrier Air Wing Dynasty Wars Dynasty Wars II: Warriors of Fate Final Fight Forgotten Worlds (uses rotary knob w/ button) Ghouls 'N Ghosts The King of Dragons Knights of the Round Magic Sword Mega Man- The Power Battle Mega Twins Nemo Pnickies (Japanese) The Punisher Strider U.N. Squadron Willow
CPS2: Alien vs. Predator Armored Warriors Armored Warriors II: Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness Battle Circuit Capcom Sports Club Dimahoo Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara Eco Fighters Giga Wing Mars Matrix Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters Mighty Buster Bros. (Mighty Pang) 1944: The Loop Master Super Gem Fighter: Mini Mix Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Kawa-X 0.11 (copy 2) with these games:
Neo Geo: Fighter's History Dynamite: Karnov's Revenge Kabuki Klash: Far East of Eden The Last Blade The Last Blade 2 Ninja Master's Samurai Shodown Samurai Shodown II Samurai Shodown III Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa's Revenge Waku Waku 7
CPS1: Saturday Night Slam Masters Street Fighter II: The World Warrior Street Fighter II: Champion Edition Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting Street Fighter Alpha- Special CPS1 Edition
CPS2: DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors Night Warriors: DarkStalkers' Revenge Darkstalkers 3: Jedah's Damnation (Vampire Savior) Darkstalkers 3: Vampire Hunter (Vampire Hunter 2) Darkstalkers 3: Vampire Savior (Vampire Savior 2) Ring of Destruction: Slam Masters 2 Street Fighter Alpha Street Fighter Alpha 2 Street Fighter Alpha 3 Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers Super Street Fighter II Turbo X-Men: Children of the Atom Marvel Super Heroes X-Men vs. Street Fighter Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
Kawa-X 0.11 (copy 3) with these games: Neo Geo FF/KoF Series: Fatal Fury: The King of Fighters Fatal Fury 2 Fatal Fury Special Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory Real Bout Fatal Fury Real Bout Fatal Fury Special Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves The King of Fighters '94 The King of Fighters '95 The King of Fighters '96 The King of Fighters '97 The King of Fighters '98: The Slugfest The King of Fighters '99: Millenium Battle The King of Fighters 2000 The King of Fighters 2001
FBA-X Beta 4 v0.2.94.97 with these games:
Art of Fighting Art of Fighting 2 Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior Breakers Breakers Revenge Double Dragon: The Movie Fight Fever Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle Neo-Geo Cup '98: The Road to Victory Neo Turf Masters Ragnagard Riding Hero Savage Reign Super Sidekicks Super Sidekicks 2: The World Championship Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory Super Sidekicks 4: The Ultimate 11 Voltage Fighter: Gowcaizer
Notice my custom names for some games? That is just what I refer to the game as. The reason for all of the Kawa and FBA copies is that I want to have three/four different default controller setups and the versions of these emus I have do not support different button mapping for each game. I still need to hex-edit and or find other versions of the emu to have the settings stored in different places.
What I want is only working/ non duplicate (unless there is a significant difference between a Japanese/ other country/ clone game) games with all of the Neo Geo/ CPS (listed above), daphne-supported, Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat games removed. I am perfectly fine with playing the MK series via the official Xbox retail versions, since they don't work too well in Mame. Same goes for Street Fighter 1 and Three Wonders (Capcom Classics vol. 2). The Neo Geo and CPS games NOT in my above lists- I want them in Mame instead, such as 19XX (vertical- since my Kawa-X doesn't support TV flipping), Galaxy Fight: Universal Warrior, World Heroes Perfect, World Heroes, World Heroes 2, World Heroes 2 Jet and the Capcom trivia games which don't use a joystick, I'd prefer in Mame.
I want the World Heroes games in Mame instead of Kawa/ FBA since they don't all use the same control scheme and I want them together, and Galaxy Fight- well I forget why I wanted it in Mame instead.
I'd like separate categories for adult games, text-heavy Japanese games (I have friends that read Japanese) and maybe more.

Hey marioxb,
Send me a PM with your email address and I can send you my spreadsheet when I get a chance. It's still a work in progress, but you should be able to get some use out of it. I'm not interested at all in Kawa myself so I'll leave any of that work to you to look at. My list has purged all of the duplicates (probalby a few still in there, as it's a work in progress).
I have a majority of the working adult games separated and a whole bunch of working foreign games separated as well, but they are probably not complete lists. You'll notice in my spreadsheet that there is a large section of "untested" games. Most of these are Cassette, Play Choice 10, Megaplay, etc. but there are also quite a few Mahjong, Quiz and other foreign games that I just didn't want to devote any more time to. If you decide upon viewing that you'd like to test these and alter the spreadsheet to indicate which games work I'd be happy to have the help in that area and add them to my findings. I just have no desire to test any of those games as I'd never have them on my own emulator. Would be nice to have working romcenter datafiles of all of the working adult and foreign games to provide for others who would want them. If you do test them, I'd recommend using either MAMEox128 and/or MAMEdox Arcades to test (Preferably Arcades), as those are what I've used to test all of my games so far. Make sure you say which emu you used to test, as the results can vary greatly from emulator to emulator.
I'd be very interested in talking to you about your abilities in hex editing and exactly what it is you can do to an .xbe file with a hex editor. I'm only aware of the ability to change the way that game names show up in the GUI, but I'd love to learn a few more tricks for altering a build that has no available source code.

QUOTE(ressurectionx @ Feb 29 2008, 07:24 AM) I'm only aware of the ability to change the way that game names show up in the GUI, but I'd love to learn a few more tricks for altering a build that has no available source code.
Unless you have advanced Assembly & reverse engineering skills, then there are not exactly many things you will be able to alter this way. I find it odd that the names are being changed in the xbe in the first place, and not in the source code. If you still need help getting the xdk setup, send me a PM. Do you have the source code for Arcades now, or what is your plan there? KM
