MS will remain tight-lipped on XBL status thanks to lawsuit
Posted by XanTium | January 14 11:35 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From xboxic.com:
[QUOTE]
Major Nelson, on his weekly podcast, has revealed exactly why nothing has been said for a while about the Xbox Live issues that remain. Thanks to the lawsuit filed in Texas, it means Microsoft can no longer update us on the situation due to legal issues.

This is a major blow for the Xbox community as it was at least nice to know that the issues were known about and were trying to be dealt with. Now we wait with baited breath for it to be fixed, without ever being told officially.

Give me a break, like MS or MN ever told us what is really going on. They never do, to this day they still don't admit to what causes the RROD, or what improvements they are going to make to help prevent phishing of accounts. Instead they have given you a 1 month gold card for a 6-12 week wait, or an offer of a free arcade game that you already have. What about the steering wheel? They tell you to stop using it with the adapter because the force feedback can cause a fire, instead use it with a battery pack which disables the force feedback. Then tell you to fill out a form to get it fix which took 3 months to get a box to send it back, in the meantime they release a NEW wheel at a reduced cost and you get nothing for your wait and lose of use.

I don't give a rats ass about knowing if its fixed or not. They say it is when it isn't too many times. So that info is worthless to me personally.

This lawsuit shouldn't be news to anyone. Hell, I know I saw it comming. Odd that no one else did, and its no suprise that MS won't speak on the matter any further.

Really, what did you ppl think was going to happen?

Can you say: Ricochet! smile.gif

I dont know how this things hold up but I cant do anything else then to think of all the MMORPGs which have server issues every now and then. Noone thought of suing Blizzard? smile.gif

Well guess not cause its in the EULA that this things can happen and that you have no right to get any money back from it.

I for one say 'good' - we only seem to get fed BS by Microsoft anyhoo. Maybe spending more time in preventing this from ever happening again would be more resourceful than a few politically correct words on someone's blog...

What exactly would you sue someone for, in order for them to not give out updated information? Can anything be said in a Podcast, or any other way rolleyes.gif

I better be getting more than a free arcade game then. With as much as they charge, there should be little to no down time.

Coming from pc gaming where net play is free, and with the PS3 network free....this isn't acceptable for a pay service.

in other words, your spoilt and dont believe ppl should get paid for their work....poor baby.

A lot of pay services go down once in a while and nobody sounds as extreme as u. When my internet provider has "technical difficulties" and i have no service for few days, i can get over it.
