Basics-Vision

I had some spare time over the school holidays and started mucking around making a Basics-101 / VISION hybrid skin ( like they had sex and made a bastard child ) Pretty much its basics-101 redesigned into a vision look but more how I thought it should be.

The skin is now finished and ready for download. I call it "Basic-Vision" because I'm uncreative when it comes to names

Oh one side effect for people is since its a remake of basics-101 its really going to be 720p only with basic 16x9 support unlike Vision that supported 4x3 as well Hopefully I can get 4x3 support in but its not looking like its going to be easy

Make sure you check out the skin settings (Go left in settings) and check out how different it looks with "Use Alternate Home Layout" and "Use Full Icon Size" turned on

I get the same with the Basic-101 SVN.

Vision and MC360 Build.bat works fine.

Why is it broke? Am I missing something?

Probably somthing to do with localization of windows that makes them fail I will see if I can get nuka (the guy who wrote it) to look at it

My first intention was to make a Basics-Vision Blaze theme, but the background of Blaze is badly only SD size, so will pixelate at 720p, that's why I made this Green theme instead, seeing it was the second most downloaded on the XBMC Black Market database.

Well that is sweet Jezz as Vision is my primary skin. I'm all into media only focus whit this skin, but no 4:3 SDTV support... I know u can implement stuff like that into code
Nevertheless good looking skin...so ty is in order...you rock in sooo many things when it comes to Xboxing
I'm sure that many people will take good care for this bastard child of yours and I believe it will grow into something much bigger that it was suppose to represent!!! man I'm talking trash...

I am trying to work on 4x3 but I have since discovered that its really not as easy because I made the skin in 720p I have to completely remake the skin in 4x3 every single file because all the dimensions are different

If I had done it the old PM3 way and used the pal16x9 dir instead of the the 720p for the skin files it would be easy because PAL 4x3 = 720x576 and PAL 16x9 = 720x576 just with a different aspect ratio. And since 720p = 1280x720 all the dimensions for the pixels are off and I have to redo every x,y,width,height, for every label image animation etc etc etc.

What I am kind of hoping for is jmarshall to make me the app he mentioned that uses xbmc scaling code (that it uses to display a 720p skin in 4x3) to actually go through the xmls and auto output me a set of PAL4x3 ones with the correct values

and then I would only have simple adjustments to make it proper 4x3

Just tried the skin Jezz_X! Its absolutly amazing! Everything feels real solid and I didn't experience any bugs at all... Much better then the original default Vision! I wish I had the time to put a Project Mayhem 3 theme to it

Kudos on everything, this is a lot more then an edited vision, i highly suggest others try it, you wont be disapointed

Looking forward to that coverflow as well, that looks realllll sexy, especially with the background your using

and props to mikebeecham for the icos, they fit Vision perfectly in HD
