PS3 partly to blame for GTA IV delay
Posted by XanTium | 25-1-2008 0:05 EST

From gamesindustry.biz:
[QUOTE]
PlayStation 3 development was a contributing factor to the delay of GTA IV, according to Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera.

"It's really no surprise to anybody that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to that," Barrera told MTV.
"Now, we're neck and neck. That's not an issue anymore. But back then that was something we were taking into account."

Barrera said that the PS3 version was identical to the Xbox 360 version.

Rockstar has officially announced that GTA IV will be released worldwide for both PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 29.

I remember reading somewhere that, Sony probably had a deal with Rockstar that said they couldn't release IV on just the 360 and release at a later time on the ps3 it had to be day and date. And if the PS3 version underperformed they had to delay both versions.

On another note, the preview that got released this week were all from the 360 build and it was not even near perfect so I'm guessing neither version was actually good enough to release last year.

I also wonder when will multiplat titles look better on the ps3, if ever. .
