So I have decided to upgrade from my current heavily modded XBOX to the 360. I was going to buy the xbox 360 "arcade" version at walmart to get started.. I assume this is just the standard model and can be modded. If so what other items will I need to mod besides a chip? Like do I need an eprom programmer like on the original model? I hate to ask this but there are now so many chips out there what is the most common\best one (solderless) out there today?
Thanks!
Ted

Well all 360's can be modded, To breifly put it to you the mod can only be done through the dvd drive firmware at this time. You can get a chip for this if you want one, the best in my opinion is the Ifectus chipset. However the cheapest method is to maually flash the dvd drive firmware yourself (easily done no matter what drive youve got). You can find all the info you need throught this forum on how to flash the drive. Good Luck.
