GTA Hot Coffee Lawsuit Settlement: You Get Up To 35usd
Posted by XanTium | January 26 19:27 EST | News Category: Xbox

From gamingsteve.com:
[QUOTE]
Just in case you forgot in 2007 Rockstar Games proposed a settlement for a class action lawsuit concerning the infamous Hot Coffee modification. As a result any US citizen who was officially "offended and upset" by the ability to unlock this hidden content can now claim up to $35 in compensation.

The exact amount you may be entitled depends upon directly upon how much documentation you have of your "outrage":
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas First Edition Disc: Replacement Disc
Detailed Store Receipt: Cash payment up to $35.00
General Credit Card Statement or Check: Cash payment up to $17.50
Disc/Purchase Details: Cash payment up to $10.00
No Disc/Purchase Details: Cash payment up to $5.00

Full details on the program can be found at GTASettlement.com and you must submit your claim by May 16, 2008 to be eligible for compensation.

What the hell? You can file a lawsuit based on the possibility that something could be shown if modded? Thats too much of a IF for this shit. Jack Thompson can go to hell.

oh the irony behind the name 'hot coffee'. it reminds me of that mcdonalds (or was it dunks?) frivolous lawsuit a few years back when some moron burned them self with coffee and felt it necessary to sue because the cup didn't have a warning label.

seriously, anyone who was "offended and upset" or "outraged" needs to get a life. its an M rated game, the equivalent of an R rating on a movie. there is much more visual stuff on tv every day and in most movies.

Lame,

Just like the Xbox Live lawsuit, only the layers win; No one else. This will only lead to more expensive games, or future game budgets being slashed resulting in buggy games.

Laywers are just theives embedded in legal avenues.

The American judicial system really needs to be analyzed, scrutinized, and then repaired/restructured to prevent frivolous lawsuits such as these.

From what i remember she burnt the absolute shit out of her nether region and supposedly had no feeling down there whatsoever. She didn't get the ammount of money that the jury wanted her to win, the judge cut it into 1/4 or thereabouts.

But yep, only in America.

lol, this is awesome. Out of all the time and effort wasted on the lawsuit, people only get the ability to have a partial refund, which is not even worth the effort to claim.
