Microsoft: Don't Mail Bill Gates about RRoD Issues
Posted by XanTium | February 2 13:51 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From fragland.net:
On Wednesday we reported about a guy who got a brand new X360 after mailing Bill Gates about the problems he was having with his console. Tons of news sites reported on this and the result seems to have been a massive increase in angry mails towards the man.

Microsoft now has sent out a note that people shouldn't be contacting Mr. Gates:
"Bill Gates or Microsoft executives are not an appropriate escalation point for customer service issues. Customers experiencing issues with their Xbox 360 console should contact Xbox Customer Service. Our customer service team is well equipped to ensure that the repair process goes smoothly."
This was to be expected as most people are just plain retarded.

MUHUHAHAHAHA! Now that noone will be emailing him, it leaves his whole inbox just for little old me!

But seriously, if mailing him solved the problem that quickly for one person, why wouldnt you do the one-two punch of sending it in AND emailing him, just in the off chance he may get off his fat multi-billion dollar butt and do something about it?

- People would not go to such extremes if Microsoft was not so stupid as to give crappy service and create a crappy machine.

- If they simply used screws, washers, extra heatsinks, and extra cooling. The failure rate of the Xbox 360's would dramatically decrease.

- (This is just a theory) I believe that the Xbox 360's X-Clamp was designed to give your Xbox 360 the 3RLOD after your warranty was up, however that plan backfired on them in some cases.

This Theory is screwed up because microsoft makes more money on a system that is still working since the user is still buying games for it...people quit buying games for a dead system and sometimes might even go with a different system like the ps3. Also at the time of making the xbox 360 microsoft was losing money on each system it wouldnt make sence to design a system that people need to buy twice if its costing them money.

Don't joke - that's exactly what I'm doing; well, I'm writing directly to MS UK. I sent my non-modded RRoD 360 to MS for repair, it came back repaired but giving a strange WXYZ code when trying to connect to Live. Xbox support don't want to know, the 2nd/3rd line techs alternate between telling me it's a problem with my Internet connection (it isn't - I have another 360 that connects just fine, and I'm the Network Manager for a large company, I know my networking tongue.gif ) and that my box is banned.

If I push hard enough, support tell me to either mail xboxsup1 or xboxsup2@microsoft.com, which of course is a big black hole.

They barely speak English and lie through their teeth. Wish I'd thought of mailing billg (I've heard of people getting similar results with Apple and Steve Jobs), but a recorded delivery letter to MS UK is the best I can do for now. After that, maybe it's time for the small claims court?

Well I guess congradulations to that lucky guy is due here.

But talk about being unfair. Jesus. I mean surely Bill knew that this would backfire in his face.

"Okay, let me send this guy a new console promptly while the rest of my product's user base that is suffering from the exact same thing have to go through the proper channels and annoying hassle of doing it the way its meant to be done. Hey, I'm sure they will get over it. Hell no one else will want to attempt this or feel cheated... right?"

WOW. blink.gif

- Thats why if you don't have warranty they want you to pay them $200.00 to do a $50 job.

- Microsoft knows that most people wont buy the PS3 because the PS3 has little to no games, and the games that it does have can already be played on the 360. The few exceptions that the PS3 has exclusively are not even worth playing at this point.

- The only thing I have to say about the Wii is that it sucks ass and I really do not see how anyone would want it.

- For the record a-lot of people have gone out and switched to another system because they were sick of the Xbox 360 failing them, however I bet every one of those people wish they had another Xbox 360.

- So is my theory flawed? I do not think so.

more power to 'em if I as a customer get sooo angry that I even think about emailing the main guy of the company or any of the main people then something is wrong somewhere and I would hope that because of the flood of emails.. those "main" people would look into the customer service part of it a little more in depth.

Customers do not just email presidents etc etc because of one time issues.

Looks like Billy and his butt loving suites are a tad bit scared of the truth.

If they would have spend more time and very little money extra to build the system right, then he wouldnt have to deal with anything. Look at the 1st gen xbox!! There were very little problems and they didnt have to deal with this return BS!!! I, for 1, would STILL email them and tell them to get their lazy butts up and MAKE SURE that they sell something that wont upset billions of people!!!!! If I could only get his email....

And what would you do when that doesn't work?

...idiot

Support just sends you another console back that will break in another couple of months.
