Xbox 360 Gamers To Get FPS Leverage With FPS Freek Add-on
Posted by XanTium | February 4 16:08 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From gamingbits.com:
[QUOTE]
The FPS Freek is the newest Xbox 360 thumb stick extension by KontrolFreek. Below is a 3d rendered model of the FPS Freek. Where the SpeedFreek cradles your thumbs on the left and right to prevent slippage, the FPS Freek adds both length and leverage. How does this benefit you? As described on KontrolFreek's site: "More leverage = less force to move. More length = more precise character movement and more precise aiming." We're not sure if these are allowed in MLG competitions, but it sounds like something worth trying out on heated Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 online matches. The prototype testing by KontrolFreek also noted adjusting controller sensitivity in-game may be needed for precision aiming.

That doesn't seem very necessary to me.

Besides, if I wanted a bigger stick, I would just change out the stock stick with a longer one.

No dirty jokes about that last statement, please.

Great idea, proger, but where do you get a longer stick? Not that I need one... *snicker*.

why not just get an old stick from a s type and attach it to the top of your current stick for the same effect with the "i did this myself" feeling everytime you use it????

does this mean i can get a job at KontrolFreek now?

unfortunately we arent hiring :-( longer analogs allow you to aim more precisely due to the little bit of extra travel you have. the pic above is me holding the controller with my first round of prototypes, they were a little longer then the current ones. anyway, im here to answer questions, if i dont reply here email me anytime to support@kontrolfreek.com and i will reply. thanks again guys, the testers love these prototypes, so i mean i am sure their is a need for them, not everyone will want them, but i cant play cod without them lol

I think I might purchase a pair, if they do inhance your aim in shooters that'd be sick!
I buy all sorts of junk, videogames, electronics that I don't need, why not and these to the list!? Just another tech toy to add to my collection. I'll let you guys know what I think when I get em.

p.s. this is my first post.

Do these things just snap into place? Are they loose fitting? Will they spin once attached?

I'm skeptical, but won't make any assumptions until I've tried them.

Edit: In for a pre-order. I'm hoping these will give me an edge in Halo 3...lol...

Just looking at these, I don't see how they're any better than the standard analog thumbsticks.
I'm sure I'd have to try them out before I can make a decision, though sleep.gif

i understand the concept, the longer the stick the shorter the movement needed, could you make one for us tiger woods n00bz where the stick can only move forwards and back because i cant hit straight for 5**T, lol
can you please post some more pics like a close up, and one of the stick full left or right, also how snug does it fit and over time will it become loose and spin or have play?

Just the opposite. Longer stick means more movement needed.

And that's a good thing. I think these things will work quite well on shooters.

We have to keep in mind that the aimingspeed won't be decreased in general. When I'm playing GoW I often have some troubles with the snipe when I should move the crosshair only a few inches on the TV.
I could imagine that such things will be easier when you have more space in the stick-movement...

(Sorry for bad english... sad.gif )
