Pacific Crest: Microsoft's new box to debut in 2010
Posted by XanTium | February 13 18:18 EST | News Category: Xbox360
From gamespot.com:
Pacific Crest's Wilson, who late last year made projections about a Nintendo DS redesign already being complete, also gave investors today a heads-up on when he believes Microsoft and Nintendo will unveil their next systems. "We believe that peak industry sales will occur in 2010, given that Microsoft will likely introduce its next console that year and Nintendo will likely launch before then. Further, 2010 is also likely to coincide with the end of the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP cycles."
I thought I heard MS was giving the 360 at least 7 years. Though I suppose they could keep selling it alongside the new console, unlike what they did with the Xbox.

Ya but I can't see the new box in 2010, they need to do a lot more hardware testing and research and development than the 360. It might be ready by 2010 but I doubt we will see it on stores for a while.

It's just like MS to do this crap too. Look at how long the Sony PS lasted. MS will screw over all of us X360 users just like they did Xbox1. I hate you, Microsoft.
Also, the conclusion of this: actually makes very much sense. Since BillG said he was leaving, shortly thereafter, our big chap in the project-a-chair said they will be releasing new consoles every 3 years and new OS every 2 years. So much for quality support. They gonna be dropping it quick now.
** Correction, maybe 4 years, because didn't X360 launch in 06 ?.. but late 06.. right? I forget now..

actually, it says nothing about releasing a new system in 2010, it simply predicts they would unveil it then. It could be many years after the unveil before it goes on sale.

And this conclusion was based upon what?
Didn't mean to reply to this one. Ooops. Bottom line is this is some investment firm's guess everybody. Until MS says something then this is pure speculation. Please stop treating (and responding) as if it were fact.
