Ok i tried the artic thermal compound the first time and it worked great for 2 weeks. Then the RLOD came back and i reapplied the compound again and its working.

From what I have been reading the cause of the XBOX 360 RLOD is because of heat. You think i shoul djust play the system with the top lid cover removed? So now all the hot air instead of being trapped inside the xbox it will escape since there is no top cover?

What do you all think?

Kickin a dead horse here, but wanted to put this in here for anyone who might wonder across it.

Takin the lid off would make it worse, (Barely though, if you left the white fan piece in) because with the lid off air would just be sucked from around the fan rather than be pulled through the system

It never hurts to add a extra fan or two on the heatsyncs. Check any mod shop and they should have custom desigined ones.
