Two questions:

1. How can the Wii have sales of 5.36m and cite Wii Sports as 2.75m? Is Wii Sports for sale separately?

2. I can't understand how a 'western' RPG like Oblivion on the 360 has sold more than Eternal Sonata, seeing as it's a JRPG.

1. yes and it comes bundled with a wiimote so most everyone bought wii sports just for the extra 'mote
2. probably because oblivion rocks and even the Japanese know it wink.gif

WiiPlay came bundled with the WiiMote, which is obviously why it's up there at #2. What I still cannot fathom is why Wii Sports is even listed with less numbers than the console? Is there a SKU in Japan whereby you can buy without Wii Sports?

AFAIK Wii sports is NOT bundled with the console in Japan and never has been.

Its hard to believe this crappy console is selling so much. I have one and only games I liked besides sports, was mario galaxy and metroid. Most of the games I see on the Wii, seem childish or have bad controls.

I agree with you - my brother has a Wii and its fun to play for about an hour or so on the better games, but trying to play more traditional games with the Wii-mote (or whatever its called) is just plain annoying.

I see the attraction in a sense, but in the long term I find the novelty value wears thin VERY quickly. Bundled with the fact that the low def visuals on any TV over 21" in size look terrible and I dont see how it can compete long term no matter what these numbers say.

I think the thing that has sold it so many is the low price and party value. TBH im surprised the numbers for the 360 are so low, I knew it wasnt popular over there, but still...
