Jeff Hardy had a long meeting with Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis before Raw on Monday to discuss his 60-day suspension for violating the wellness policy. Although WWE spokesperson Gary Davis would not specify to the Associated Press which drug Hardy tested positive for, multiple sources say that the suspension is related to recreational drug use and is not attributable to performance enhancing drugs.

Hardy was said to be subdued and mindful of his words in front of most members of the locker room on Monday because he knew anything he said could come back to haunt him. There’s no word yet on whether management has asked him to seek treatment. The wellness policy states that WWE officials have the right to suspend a second time offender indefinitely if company officials want the wrestler to seek treatment and he refuses.

-- Jeff Hardy met with Vince McMahon at RAW last night. Several WWE stars were informed of the suspension backstage. Hardy dropped the Intercontinental title to Chris Jericho on the show.

This is certainly a tough break for the rainbow-haired warrior, who was in the midst of the biggest singles push of his career. Hardy's previous issues with substance abuse and fears that he could relapse were factors in the company not going "all the way" with his push and awarding him with a WWE title win.

personally, i think as long as he performs ok, its his business what he does. it says his violation was not a performance enhancer, so i think the policy needs some revision.
