Is it possible to make an adaptor cable to plug an xbox dvd drive into a PC so-as to back up the bios? Would it be a simple power splice or would it require any special drivers. Not looking to be able to run anything on it, just enough so that the comp will recognize it.

I'm not asking for a bios! Please no flame me lame self!

I tried using just the ribbon cable and the comp wouldn't recognize it. I'm guessing cause there was no power in the drive.

i think IoG is thinking of the 360 dvd drive

yeah, the yellow cable provides power, as well as eject funtions and information back to the xbox (trayin/trayout, discin/discout) im sure theres a pinout somewhere for it

The tutorial for converting a PC Sansung to Xbox kinda shows which legs run all the input/output junk on the yellow cable. Dose anyone know which of the other pins will power the drive? can these be hooked directly to a standard power cable?

Is there a more clearer tutorial for this? Tried to google, nothing but rubbish, I have an extra samsung drive I wouldn't mind putting in my PC for faster game backups.
