Here are the official NPD hardware numbers of the month of March: * Wii: 721K * Nintendo DS: 698K * PSP: 297K * Xbox360: 262k * PS3: 257K * PS2: 216K

I knew it'd be a matter of time before the 360 was ahead of the PS3 again - but I think this may be only a one time thing, unless M$ have some really good titles to shell out.

so these official numbers makes the recent news report from Patcher look really stupid as he was way off...

this is really interesting news, because although the 360 has easily outsold the PS3 to date by over 9 million, the PS3 is doing better sales in reference to time since release date compared to the 360 one year ago.

and, the PS3 should be doing way better with the recent blu-ray victory...but they are not, very interesting...

i agree, it really is amazing of the Wii's continued strong sales - i still haven't seen one sitting on the shelf yet...

Yea but how many of those 360's are from people who only bought another one because theirs 3rlod and either modded it or couldn't wait to get it back from microsoft. I mean it only outsold the ps3 by 5k, too close to call really IMO.

Hello Fellow Gamers. Well Patcher...eat your words. It didn't happen the way you thought it would. M$ came out on top & probably will remain on top. Granted MGS4 might help out the PS3 in sales. Only time will tell.

So you're telling me people forgot about the RROD warranty (3yr free repair) and just went out and purchased another X360? Nahhh.. not everyone did that. Now for those of you that modded your system, You're going to need another one sooner or later. But hey, Sales are sales. You talk like there's no PS3 that has ever failed. I've repaired those too. I've seen some come right off the delivery truck DOA.
it's like this, no game system is perfect. They will eventually fail in some point in time. M$ got off to a bad start. Fortunately, my 1st X360 system had no problems with hardware failure since 2005 & it's still going.

Brawl. There is also a huge homebrew scene for the Wii which seems to be making huge strives on a regular basis. Heck, they already got it running completely off of software hacks using an exploit in Twilight Princess.

Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I think the main reason is that it seems to appeal to everyone. Every little kid wants one, every teenager gets a kick out of it, every young adult can play and relive their mario childhood memories, and every adult is excited that they can actually figure out how to play a video game.

The Microsoft WiiBox
The Sony WiiStation
The Nintendo WiiII

All basic, cheap toys, sold at a profit enmasse. Cheap development costs of basic consumer friendly games. The end is nigh for cutting edge technical consoles and hardcore games.

These companies are a business, and they will sell what makes biggest profits first and foremost.

lulz at you guys thinking M$ is on top.. clearly nintendo is but you guys seem to delude yourself thinking the 360 is still king.
