I've just put in a new installation of XP SP2 and am having some trouble using XBC for my personal backups. At startup it returns the following error...

Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Anyone had this problem before? I'm sure theres a simple procedure for replacing the file I just cant seem to find it. Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated!!

AAHA! Solved my own problem. But incase any of you run into this same issue, just follow the steps below...

1] Download a copy of MSCOMCTL.OCX from the following link...
http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/mscomctl.zip

2] Stick your new 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' file into C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\

3] Click START->RUN and type "REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX" without the quotes

4] Click OK and wait for the Successful confirmation.

That should fix the problem, did for me anyway.

Or you can simply put that DLL file into the same folder as XBC and it'll work without copying/registering.
