OK, I'm trying to softmod my Xbox.
I've got the Mechinstaller files on my HDD, but my dash is the wrong version.
Kernal 5101
Dash 5960
I've looked, but I can't find anything about downgrading the dash.

I assume you are doing this to run Linux?
MechInstaller is a very old softmod. You should be looking at Ndure softmods , for example Krayzie Ndure who solves issues like clock loop and other problems which older softmods were suffering from. Ndure works with 5960 dash (or for that matter - it works with all kernels/dash versions).

What method did you use to transfer the MechInstaller gamesave to the digital camera? dd command? Look at the xplorer360 software to transfer the gamesave from PC to memory card/digital camera. But you might still need dd to recover the digital camera to normal usage later. Anyway this kind of questions will get a better response in the newbie forum since it has nothing to do with dash downgrades anymore.

Some memory stick reader, I don't remember the name of it right now.
Xplorer360 is for 360 hard drives, im trying to mod a normal Xbox.
I just need a simple way to get the ndure files onto my camera to use with the xbox, cause I can't for the life of me get the hotswap to work.

Xplorer360 is for any fatx formatted drive including 360hdd, 360 memcard, xbox1 hdd, xbox1 memcard.
