[QUOTE]
I was browsing Vr-zones latest set of photos from Computex 2008 and spotted what appears to be a replacement heatsink for the 360. It's made by Thermalright.

Note: Thermalright says they will release this TR-360 heatsink mid August and more details will be released soon.

How is the performance of this heatsink any better than what's in the Elite consoles?

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like a CPU replacement heatsink.

How many people actually have a problem with the CPU overheating compared to the GPU? If its simply a CPU heatsink, seems pretty pointless to me.

Actually, it looks like it ventures under the dvd and connects to the cpu area. Perhaps a 2-in-1, covering both the GPU and CPU?

It doesn't fit the wind tunnel thingy very well. That big gap means alot of wasted suction.

It looks just like the standard Thermalright Ultra 120 CPU cooler that you can get for PC's.

If its of any help explaining how good their cooling ability was, I had installed the Thermalright HR05 northbridge HS cooler on my PC's motherboard and it passively cooled to around 15-20c better than the stock 40mm fan on there.

So if it is an official MS upgrade product its very promising, if its a personal mod someone has done themselves, this would be a good one to try.

There's no way that it's an official MS upgrade product, from the look of it I'd say that we're looking at just what someone has done with a thermalright cooling and as someone said above it looks to me as though it goes under the DVD drive to cool GPU also.
There's two reason why it's not an MS upgrade product:
1. Anyone removing that sicker on the front of their xbox360 has imediately no questions asked voided their warranty.
2. The fan shroud as someone aluded to does not match up to the heat sync.

Still it looks like it might be a great home mod to do!! biggrin.gif

I'd be interested if anyone can contact thermalright to find out what it is.
