I picked up a box w/ a broken dvd v 1.2. Swapped it out with a spare. Installed x3ce w/ pinheader. booted the box into ms dash to set the clock only to get error 6. found a spare stock hdd unlocked and swapped it in. I tried to boot flashbios and everything goes as it should until I get to the menu screen. protection is disabled. The screen is left hanging at the menu after it initializes the IDE and recognizes both the dvd and hdd.

According to the flashbios tut on team-xecuter the screen it locks up on is labeled the succesful load of flashbios.

the controller won't move anything on screen. no response from anything.

Is the unlocked HDD causing trouble?
This is my first x3ce. I have installed xeniums previously and softmodded several consoles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using an Official M$ controller or an aftermarket? Flashbios tends to have a problem with aftermarket controllers
