AMD brings Xbox 360 graphics to mobile platform
Posted by XanTium | June 12 00:03 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From engadget.com:
[QUOTE]
A few months ago, AMD promised Xbox 360 graphics on handhelds, and as of today it's delivered on the concept. AMD announced it has achieved Open GL ES 2.0 mobile graphics technology compliance with hardware that cranks out the same AMD Unified Shader Architecture as the Microsoft gaming console.

I'd hate to see the battery life of whatever uses this!

Sounds like another play of words. Using a GPU with the same unified shader architecture as ATi's design for the 360, but not the actual 360 GPU.

Just like IBM saying their super computer is basically a souped up PS3, when really its just using Cell processors and not any kind of PS3 hardware.

This'll go great in the next generation of western handheld.

What, there's not even a current generation of western handheld? Oh well.

Maybe sell it to Steve Jobs, 'cept all his silicon is going to be done in-house now he's bought PA-semi.
