Please bear with me as im trying to get out as much detail as possible on what i found out my box has or is running i also no speel so gewd and use shorten or mod words as a form of shorthand.
Ok ive had a moded xbox forever. I **Paid** to have it modded (and now said modder has dropped of the map or the face of the earth for that matter) and only threw sheer force of will and trial and error have figured out some FTP settings and goings on, that it has Avalaunch as a dashboard, and when i run click appliactions remotex EvloutionX pops up with a place to run games or media from Dvdrom games from HD game trainers and the like. i can also use the file manager to acces the orginal xbox dashboard to mess with my varrious memory cards for saved games and such. at start up its the orginal screen modded to be blue and then Xecuter2 pops up at the bottom of the screen. im failry sure it was softmodded bacause ive opened my other xboxes and see no difference with chip placement or the like and yes i took it all the way appart and xamined the mother board with a fine toothed comb as it were. also i have the xtoolbox keyboard popup when messing with my settings. My ultimate goal here is to learn how to or get assistance with. 1. get it so my Xbox (using a Hub) can connect to my pc and use its internet . i used (CMD) and ipconfig/all and read varroius guids to try and get the settings on my comp to corralte with my box. results on my box are i get 0.0.0.0 errx. not sure what to look for on my comp to see if its conneting right, but it does show a addres for the Ethernet device when i use that command(running Vista) 2.i have xkai so i can play other peps online therw my link but the pword and what not are invlaid so i guess it either wrong, expired, banned. dont know how to get a new one could use help. 3. i had a modded xbox with the sweet media player for movie downloads and miss it dearly and would like to install it on my current one. sadly the fan speed or something was wrong with the old one and i had a Nuke meltdown of everything. it was both tragic and messy. I did however give the box a proper burrial and cermony. 4. maybe upgrade to a bigger HD so i can put more games/movies on it currently have a 60g in it. lease try to be gentle in your responses. i realize ir noob but realy wanna get this down so i can have fun with my box at its full copasity. i will contniue to scan the forums for any guids, link, info on anything i can on these issues but any link to said info would be a great help. and please no banable links i wanna stay apart of thexbox-scene community |

Hi,
One thing at a time. How is your current network setup? Are you having a router in your network? Once you can ftp to your xbox, you can install a media player. The xbox needs a DHCP server on the network to obtain an ip adres automaticaly. This server is usually implemented in the router. regards. |

I am still not getting it.
Is your pc connected to a hub, or to the Belkin router? Are you using a wireless connection or is everything wired? Are you using only one network adapter in your pc, or are you using wireless for it's internet connection and wired (trough a hub) to connect the pc to the xbox? regards. |

I have a Belkin wireless Gaming adapter that looks exactly like your router. Maybe Belkin uses the same box for all their networking products.
Go to your router configuration web page and check if the DHCP server is enabled. If your xbox is connected to that router, it should receive an ip from the router. Try to ping the ip of the xbox to see if the pc can reach it. Another option is setting the ip adress on the xbox as a fixed one. Use 192.168.0.x and make sure x is not the number of your pc or your router. regards. |

i have to admit i dont think i have a DHCP webpage setup. and do i use the (CMD) promt to ping the router and the box or do i ping it threw the DHCP webpage itself. had it all setup on a realy old comp and the i have now is spankin new (got in Feb.) and the old one was stripped gutted and reformated for my wife to use as she pleases so there is no chance of recovery even if i had a genie and lamp to wish with.
if i dont have a webpage for DHCP a link to a setup or some advice would be apprechaited. and yeah they use the same box ive seen the wireless ones, and some of the gaming, they have good internals but they dont care about design much. i know its random but heres a pic of "old sorta reliable" ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Scrumpdi_tc: Jun 15 2008, 11:33 PM |

Check the ip adres of your router. It should be the gateway adres you see on your pc when you execute the ipconfig /all command on your pc.
So, open your web browser and insert the link http://192.168.0.x The number should be your routers ip adres. That should open the router's main configuration webpage. ping is also a command you are using in a cmd window of your pc. To ftp, you can use pretty much all alternative dashes on the xbox. On the pc site, you will need an ftp client. I don't think you will need the proxy settings on your xbox. Disable them. regards. |

ive seen the guild be what i see for the setups does not match the place where i can adjust them. please eyeball above then check the guide. youll noctic some things dont match there are several otpions not listed in the Avalaunch setup. you go under <settings><netwrok>and there is a list <ipsettings><FTP settings><IRC Settings> and so on and so forth. under <ipsettings> there is a list: Network DHCP Staticip gateway subnet DNS1 DNS2 Proxy Proxyip Proxy port Mr. robision gives this for Avalaunch <network setup="1"type="static"> <ip>192.168.0.3</ip> <subnet>225.225.225.0</subnet> <dns1>0.0.0.0</dns1> <dns2>0.0.0.0</dns2> <proxy enabled="0"> <server>10.0.0.1</server> <port>8080</port> </proxy> </network> Now im assuming that mean i have to have access to the base program itself and not a menu setup already that im changing without acces into said program in this case his guild helps 0%. Also as stated before i can acces Evox on my xbox. in which case it helps 50% since i know where the settings are located. i will make them match in both Avalaunch and Exox maybe that will clear it up. i will provide pics so you can see whats up and what im dealing with.
