Who the heck is the idiot at xboxkings.com who wrote this article and what does he/she actually know about running a business? The biggest blunder would be to take the random advice of some no name moron from a virtually unknown and un-influential website such as xboxkings.com.
Some people keep claiming that losing Bizarre Creations or Bungie are "blunders" yet to this day I have heard of absolutely no tangible negative effect to Microsoft from these losses. There have been no effect to profits, their bottom line, nothing. So exactly what evidence is there to show that any of these are blunders?
On the other hand, who's to say aquiring any of the six companies listed would actually be a good move in the long run?
I don't think you should be calling them an idiot, it may not be so much of a "blunder" you can't actually talk so soon when they haven't even released a new title since the acquisition/independence but with respects to exclusive titles they are actually correct with their article. With respects to Bizarre having them ensures they have an exclusive arcade racing title to their platform in coop with Turn 10's sim Forza. With respect to Bungie I think for the time being the will be faithful to Microsoft. with respects to Bioware I think that one is a blunder because of Mass Effect I really like Bioware, never played KOTOR nor NWN but enjoyed Jade Empire and Mass Effect they are really great with story telling. Now on to the wise acquisition Epic would be "Epic" and financially sound. Owning the Unreal Engine would be the best investment at this point in time with all the games licensing the engine. UT exclusivity could bring more game to the MS platforms Windows/Xbox. Sega? I don't know about that one, I think Capcom would be the wiser of the two. The only game I want to see come out of Sega is Shenmue. Having Capcom would mean Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Bionic Comando, Dead Rising just to name a few. This could really help tap into the Asian market. Take Two mean GTA, 2K which if they put a lot of money into could vamp up their sports department where they are lacking at the moment and add some better visuals to their sports titles to be congruent with 2k Sports great game mechanics ie NBA 2K franchise and maybe start a Football aka Soccer franchise. Team Ninja I don't think you have to worry about them they've been faithful to MS with DOA for a while now and Tecmo owns the NG franchise I believe anyways. Now Silicon Knight aka SK well we'll have to see how well Too Human does too comment on this I rooting for them all the way cause I live in Toronto so Good Luck SK. And Finally Real Time Worlds, another Crackdown would be fun to play and they are working on a Cops and Robbers MMO that could be profitable. Konami would be good one as well for tapping into the Asian/European/UK mark with PES, Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania to name a few.
