More price cut proof: full page Kmart ad for 299 USD Xbox 360
Posted by XanTium | June 27 13:20 EST | News Category: Xbox360
From xbox360fanboy.com: [QUOTE] More fuel for the Xbox 360 price cut fire as Joystiq has gotten its greasy little hands on what appears to be a full-page version of the Kmart Xbox 360 price cut ad discovered yesterday. Again we see an Xbox 360 Pro console offered for the "new low price" of $299. One interesting new wrinkle, Joystiq's tipster says that the ad is for the week of July 13, not July 6.

Looks fake to me, the 9's are crystal clear while the other numbers in the price are a blur. Its also odd the price on the bottom of the page has the same clear 9's in it.
I guess theres other clearer pics, so I take back it looks fake lol.

Looks fake, I'm sure 299 is a type face in photoshop in a new layer look at the larger pic
true but like march or april last year was article some MS executive said the premium was down to 325 to make and that was like year ago so im sure 299 is do-able if they want and i suspect the 60.gig will be 349&399 for elite version i bet

What I want to know is what Sony's response will be. I already have a PS3, but I wonder if Sony will drop the 40GB down to 349.99 anytime soon? With the Metal Gear Solid Bundle coming with an 80GB now.

$299 would most likely of been for the holiday season. Although a price cut in the middle of the year isn't out of the question, it probably isn't stratgic. Unless they have something special for the end of the year ms is confident will increase sales.

If this is true it seems it should have been more than $50. I think $75-$100 would be a more realistic reduction given how long the 360 has been out. Either way, any sort of a price drop is nice.
