themikesssta great work! Do you have a wiring diagram for how you wired the DVD dongle to the X3ir? I've been looking for something similar as I hear the the MS dongle IR eye is better (reception) than the X3ir eye. I take it with that mod you are able power on/off the xbox with the DVD remote and control XBMC?

I don't know if this is true, but I have found a significant difference in the range of after market and M$ brand remotes. I have given up on the after market remotes and stick to the real deal.

i cant find the diagram but i used the transistor method, there is also the diode method but it seemed a bit slower, do a search for "x3ir MS" or "x3ir dongle" and you might find the post i got my info from, maybe this pic might help a tiny bit.
