Xbox 360 Pro Hits 299.99usd in Target Stores
Posted by XanTium | July 11 22:52 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Microsoft still didn't officially announce the price drop of the Xbox 360 (Pro) 20GB console, but target's website now lists the 20GB Xbox360 at 299.99usd for Target's brick-and-mortar locations. So if it wasn't confirmed enough already with all leaked ads over the last few weeks, this should pretty much do it.

Great, now when the newer 360 with the 65nm GPU hits I might be able to afford to pick it up, and get some very strange looks from my parents, with it being my 6th 360 laugh.gif .

Don't get too excited. There is currently a lot of speculation that this price-drop is only for clearing out inventory of 20GB Pro units. The fact that the Arcade hasn't seen a similar adjustment seems to back up that theory.

Many of us expect that by the time the vaunted 65nm units come out (with presumed 60GB hard drive) the price will be back at $349.

Same here. My original 1.1 is still going strong. The sammy laser still works good, but the tray gets stuck when ejecting. Gotta look to see whats wrong with it, but have not had the time.

However i have been through 3 360s. 1 pro, 1 elite, sent it back to MS, the replacement they sent me lasted only 2 days then got the RRoD, sent it back, and got another one thats been doing fine............so far......

There's always someone at the party trying to ruin it....

So what if it's just to clear out old inventory. So what if a new model with a larger drive might come out. There's no reason not to take advantage of the current price drop. A price drop is a price drop regardless of what the reason is.

Unless that reason is that you're waiting for one with the better, cooler running 65nm GPU. I'm not trying to ruin the party, just sayin' this is more like a suckers-sale to clear the 90nm unit out of the channel.

Well it's a price drop and if 65nm and 3x more HD space is not worth $50 to you, then yes, it's a deal. If waiting a few months and paying what you would have (until a week ago) paid for the 20GB/90nm model sounds good to you, then it's not really a price drop you want to take advantage of.

With all the flurry around the falcons (which in reality probably have very little to do with avoiding RROD) I would think most people on this board would want to skip out on the $50 price drop just for Jasper.
