Your Existing Themes on New Xbox Experience and Guide Design
Posted by XanTium | July 16 20:01 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From the Xbox PR Blog Team:
[QUOTE]
One of the questions we've been hearing here at E3 is how existing themes you've bought from Xbox LIVE Marketplace will work with the new Xbox experience. The design team sent over this mock up to give you an idea of how it's going to work.

We've also been asked about the Game Detail Pages. Here are mock ups for a couple of them.

Marc Whitten gave an overview of the New Xbox Experience, including a peek at the Guide design. You will be able to access every part of what exists in the "blades" today, by calling up the Guide. A quick way to get to something specific, all without leaving the game you're in. Nice.

I liked how it looked before, But with THAT theme as the background just makes it look horrible.

A gears theme with a avatar really doesnt match.

WOw, you guys are some kinda picky. I think this looks great. Much better than my first impressions. It kills both the PS3 and Wii desktops. This is a huge improvement. I can't wait to get this update. Man is it gonna look great on my 60 inch HDTV!!!

Seems like a majority of 360 users are spoiled kiddies. If there's one thing you guys been nagging for, MS will make it happen, and as soon as it happens, you STILL complain about it, for example, the license tool.

They make the license tool available to everyone, and you guys complain on how you have to manually redownload licenses for your items. I mean, WTF!? It sure beats the hell out of having to buy everything again or even having to sign-on to Live to play/watch them!

Personally, I love the new interface. It seems much less restricting compared to the current dash layout which I think is horrible & plain. Hell, some of the screens in the dash take too long to load (for example, the E3 '08 or the Halo Military School pages)! Hopefully this new layout changes all of that smile.gif

Looks really nice I am glad they have done this but not keen on the avatar stuff but would be if they allowed users to use the camera to picture themselves and then use that.

one thing i really hope they have got rid of is everytime in marketplace have to wait ages for icons to appear

Ironically, the people who go around telling others to "grow up" tend to be the most immature of the bunch. rolleyes.gif

Pull your head out and pay attention because this incessant whining from prepubescent children like yourself complaining about something you don't have to do is just asinine.
It's already been said a couples times in the interviews and blog statement that if the concept of a 3D avatar doesn't appeal to you you can always switch back to a regular static image, be that flaming skull, Master Chief helmet, or whatever your little prepubescent imagination helps you think you're an adult.

Basically the old blade dash was made for a gaming console, but since it has evolved to be so much more than just playing games they had to make it feel a little more media center like but still keep that game console feel. THat is EXACTLY why it looks the way it does. THey did a good thing. The avatars, they are just promoting the addition of them, not saying this is what you have to use so deal with it. Just a new feature.

It seems to keep looking better and better.

Though with that viva pinata game page, if you owned the game and had the 'play now' option, why would you need a play demo and watch trailer option? Its not like you'd ever go to those if you owned the game...
