Bungie working on 'three distinct projects'
Posted by XanTium | July 25 23:15 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From joystiq.com:
[QUOTE]
Bungie is busy getting ready for next month's Penny Arcade Expo, but it isn't going to be revealing any new games at the event. Especially that one Microsoft doesn't want it talking about. This shouldn't be taken to mean that the company has nothing going on. Au contraire. According to its latest news update, the dev has not one but three new games in the works.

"Rest assured that when the time is right, we will be making announcements and talking about the stuff we're currently working on," the post reads, continuing, "At the moment we do have three distinct projects underway within Bungie - some familiar, some not. Some on a closer horizon, some quite far off."

completely agree. It is so dumb when developers like to keep stuff a secret for so long. they are not creating hype or anything like that. They just piss off the people. I could care less of what they have in store for us. Halo 3 was such a joke, I stick to playing halo 2. Luckly I have UT3 now and im back to playing real shooters.

Way back before Halo 3 released and it might have been bill gates himself that mentioned a tag team of gears of war / halo every year. Sure enough GoW 2 is scheduled for an '08 release. Mystery Bungie Halo game for nov '09 I bet. It's almost expected that GoW3 is shooting for 2010.

I hope pimps at sea is real and headed for XBLA.

Why are you guys angry at this? There is a right time and a wrong time to announce any project, video game or not! Announce too early and you risk having to explain any failure to the public. Announce too late and risk being beat to market by a competitor with their own announcement. It costs money to make these announcements and even more money if something you are working on falls through or doesent hit quality standards!
You guys are fools if you think Bungie should just tell everyone every project they are working on.

Personally, I would elect to get solid information when the publisher(microsoft) is ready to announce something over hearing about a project that is just in early development.

Apparently you care quite a bit if you need to reply to this news story!

This is exactly what I expect, and nothing would make me happier. Throw in a few more great games like CoD4 in the mix, and I'll be one happy xbox owner.

Yeah you guys gotta remember, if they announce stuff too early, you end up with games like Starcraft Ghost and Duke Nukem Forever.

Dont worry, its Bungie. Its Halo. It will get hyped.

Also, if you check out job listings, youll see MS is hiring quite a few people for "halo" for various tasks.

I understand the secrecy, it helps prevent low-quality competitors releasing a poor knockoff before you release your own project

better to hide your project in a cloak of mystery so there aren't any competitors who can make cheap knockoffs than to be accused of copying an earlier game.
