sounds like a wire is touching the fan blades when they spin. i would know, made that mistake a couple times with a few mods i did...hehe. it get's louder because the fans are hitting it faster. voila problem solved: MOD that sucker!!

I don't think anything is hitting the fans, they're aren't really any wires around that can reach to the fan blades. The fans' power wires are pretty short and they'd have a hard time getting into that position. They'd have to go through a spot the fan shroud first, same goes for the dvd drive wires. Bad bearings maybe?

Sounds like one of the fans is catching on something, big deal . I could recreate the same video with my warranty sealed 360 easily. All you'd need to do is stick something through the fan grill at the rear. Something probably just came loose during transit thats all. Can't believe a stupid video like this can get so much attention, 22,872 Views .

Ummm, anytime I've ever seen noise come from the fan area it's just been the way the case/cage/fans interact with one another once assembled. I had one do this too me recently and all I had to do was bend the metal back a little bit that "clips" the fans in. I bet dollars to donuts that if you take your xbox right now and squeeze the back near the fans yours would make the same noise... what a lame story..

Exactly...the fans, one or both are definitely hitting something. This happened to me when I replaced my fans with the Whisper fans and didn't have them seated (the 2 little nubs that fit into the holes in the metal case). There is very little clearance and it doesn't take much, still not good for MS's repair service.
