If i have a hitachi drive 59dj model can i buy a hitachi drive like 47d or whatever and not have to flashi if its a different version just swap boards in drive? My 59dj drive want stay closed and makes a loud sceetch when starting . i took it apart and it will play games with top of the dvd drive case off as long as i dont have to open the drive again i guess i work lol. thanks for the advice ahead of time

Yes the PCB's are interchangable accross all version of Hitachi....
